Hello,

we are currently looking for a construction company (masonry/concrete construction) to build our house. However, those we contact either do not respond or it takes a very long time to get answers. We have a preferred company from the town where we live (our first conversation was 2.5 weeks ago). Unfortunately, they have not replied for over two weeks now (they are not on vacation).

Now the question: Do you possibly know a construction company you can recommend? And is it normal for responses to take several weeks?

Thank you in advance.

Did that refer to the construction road? ops:

According to him, the construction road is not a bitumen crossing.

Topic sound insulation: There will be a roof on top, right? For me, a wooden beam ceiling would be sufficient and probably much more cost-effective.

That’s why I’m asking. Is a solid concrete ceiling better for cold, heat, and sound insulation?

Cold protection: no
Thermal insulation: no
Soundproofing for noise from above: yes

Due to the higher mass of the concrete slab, I would expect more "thermal storage capacity" and therefore greater phase shift in temperature transfer; regarding thermal insulation, only the positioning (between wooden beams or laid on the concrete slab) and possibly the material (glass wool / rigid foam) differ. By "sound insulation," do you mean the concern that the rooms might effectively use the attic like a bass reflex box to "communicate" with each other? In that case, the drywall should be sufficient to keep it below the threshold of perception. While I understand the perfectionist concerns of (especially first-time) builders, I wouldn’t exaggerate here – if I remember correctly, the likely permanent use of the attic is as storage space (?)

Correct. It will be used as storage space.

It would be more important to use engineered roof trusses or a timber beam construction so that you can use the space above as a storage area.
