Hello,
we are currently looking for a construction company (masonry/concrete construction) to build our house. However, those we contact either do not respond or it takes a very long time to get answers. We have a preferred company from the town where we live (our first conversation was 2.5 weeks ago). Unfortunately, they have not replied for over two weeks now (they are not on vacation).
Now the question: Do you possibly know a construction company you can recommend? And is it normal for responses to take several weeks?
Thank you in advance.

And what do you consider inadequate in the offer after the duration of the conversation?

And what do you not consider adequate in the offer based on the conversation time? No idea, otherwise I wouldn’t be asking. It doesn’t even say how many windows will be installed, including how many are floor-to-ceiling. What type of air-to-water heat pump it is, and so on. It’s just a question of whether this is normal for an initial quote.
How detailed would your calculation be if you were in his position? Remember: calculating takes time and costs money. After an hour and a half of initial consultation, he can still expect several competitors—at least if you haven’t given him any indication otherwise.
I’m just saying: the more detailed the inquiry, the more detailed the response will be. That’s why you don’t ask for “one house” to be offered, or “everything except tiles as own work” like at the kebab shop—you should ask a builder more precisely.

You have your next meeting on Monday and possibly others with different companies. From these meetings and the offers you receive, you will decide with whom you feel welcome to build your dream home for a six-figure amount.
In our experience, large general contractors usually want to take on projects that fit their existing portfolio (off the shelf), focusing on volume. With smaller construction companies, you receive better support.
We are still waiting for two offers today; our floor plan was not off the shelf.
