Hello everyone,

I’m curious about the dimensions (length and width) of your lawn area.

I’m currently considering how much lawn space makes sense and how much can be taken away for patio, planting, etc., while still leaving a good area for playing football and similar activities.

Thanks

We don’t have that much space, just under 300 m2 (3,230 ft2). But it’s more than enough for us, and the children manage well too. The rest is terrace, a lot of paving, and planting. Total area is 730 m2 (7,857 ft2).

What are the approximate width and length of the main lawn area? Is it more like 15×15 m (50×50 ft) or 7×23 m (23×75 ft)?

What makes sense for you is something you have to decide yourself. Garden beds can also be expanded or removed later. In any case, the plot will largely determine the practical area.

Our lawn surrounds the house in a U-shape. We have 250m² (2,690 sq ft) as the main area in front of the terrace on the southwest side, 50m² (540 sq ft) on the south side facing the street, and 100m² (1,080 sq ft) mostly unused on the north side. Personally, I could manage just as well with a total of 100m² (1,080 sq ft) or 200m² (2,150 sq ft), and the robotic mower doesn’t mind either.

We have a 10m by 10m (33 ft by 33 ft) lawn on a 670m² (7,212 ft²) plot of land. It depends on what is going to be done there.

How wide and long is the main lawn area approximately? More like 15×15 or 7×23, for example?

Main area is 15m x 8m (49ft x 26ft) in front of the terrace, with the rest on the north side.
