We are currently building a single-family house and had the windows installed yesterday. Now we have noticed that there are different surface textures. Our window installer never mentioned or showed us this. We wanted smooth anthracite-colored uPVC windows. We also showed photos of how they should look on the house (similar to aluminum windows). Now the windows are installed, and we have grainy uPVC windows with frames that are not angular but rather rounded. It looks terrible. We trusted the window installer because he is my grandfather. He gave completely wrong advice, and now we are left very disappointed. It doesn’t matter to me whether it’s family or not. We are paying a very high price for something we never wanted.

I often get the impression that you are a bit smug. Things can always go wrong; I know people who hired a good construction company and a good site manager, and still something went wrong. No, it’s not smugness, just realism!
People / homeowners make decisions. In this specific case, they chose individual contracting. And either you have the competence for that or you don’t!
Every smartphone is researched extensively, much more than such an investment.
So why didn’t the homeowner go to a showroom or the window manufacturer and say, “Hey, that’s great, show me the profile, what does it look like?”
You can also get samples to take to the construction site, hold them up to the light, and so on.
Some people just need instructions for everything.
I also think you (or your uncle) can forget about insurance. What was delivered is what was ordered.
You can’t really claim misadvice either. You signed a written contract after the conversation, and what’s stated there applies.
Unfortunate situation. Sorry.
Smooth films are even shinier. That’s why hardly anyone uses them. They look artificial. Textured films are the standard.
Didn’t you sample the film beforehand?
For us, the film according to the RAL color standard and because of the profile shape was very important, and we had samples at home as well as visited reference projects.

Okay, then you will have to resolve it within the family. Trying to handle this through insurance probably won’t work, since it’s not a technical defect. Just because you don’t like it doesn’t count at all in this case, especially if you only have that single sheet as an “offer/construction specification.” I wanted to sort it out, and now it’s “I want peace and don’t want anything to do with it” and he’s threatening to move to Thailand with his wife! So, what now?

Smooth films have an even shinier finish. That’s why hardly anyone uses them. They look artificial. Textured is the usual choice.
Didn’t you receive a sample of the film?
For us, the film was very important because of the RAL color and the profile shape. We had samples at home and looked at reference projects for everything. We were given a color chart, and he said these were exactly the windows we wanted. Now the shape and texture are completely different. I think we will involve a lawyer!
A lawyer might not necessarily be helpful; the key question is what exactly you signed in the order. Everything else will be difficult to prove. Could you possibly upload some pictures? At first glance, it seems like you received DB 703 instead of RAL 7016. However, a smooth RAL 7016 also has a noticeable gloss, while DB 703 (which I have something similar to myself) appears more "matte," as it only contains iron mica.
