Tasdi.bau19 Jun 2019 06:45We are currently building a single-family house and had the windows installed yesterday. Now we have noticed that there are different surface textures. Our window installer never mentioned or showed us this. We wanted smooth anthracite-colored uPVC windows. We also showed photos of how they should look on the house (similar to aluminum windows). Now the windows are installed, and we have grainy uPVC windows with frames that are not angular but rather rounded. It looks terrible. We trusted the window installer because he is my grandfather. He gave completely wrong advice, and now we are left very disappointed. It doesn’t matter to me whether it’s family or not. We are paying a very high price for something we never wanted.

What was ordered?
Which profile shape (square/round) and which type of foil (smooth/embossed/textured)? We only received this document. It only shows the number. On the company’s website, there are no surface textures listed, just a color chart where you can’t see any grain or texture.
You received what is stated in the scope of work! If there is no more detailed offer, then things don’t look good. That’s just how it is with a scope of work. Brands and models are usually not selectable, as the calculation is based on quantities. Special requests must be submitted in writing and compensated separately.
The scope of work doesn’t even specify that it should be triple-glazed.
What does your grandfather say about that?

What does your grandfather say about this? He should normally know that, right? I hope something can be done through his liability insurance! I mean, he gave us really poor advice!!! My grandfather says that if the structure isn’t what we want, we need to explicitly tell the company again. Somehow he doesn’t understand that he made the mistake and just went ahead with the order like that! I definitely can’t accept these windows as they are. They look dreadful. We have a very beautiful large single-family house with many big windows, and now they’re made of ugly, grainy plastic that shines excessively when the sun hits it.
