ᐅ Windows – Incorrect Advice, Wrong Window Product Installed

We are currently building a single-family house and had the windows installed yesterday. Now we have noticed that there are different surface textures. Our window installer never mentioned or showed us this. We wanted smooth anthracite-colored uPVC windows. We also showed photos of how they should look on the house (similar to aluminum windows). Now the windows are installed, and we have grainy uPVC windows with frames that are not angular but rather rounded. It looks terrible. We trusted the window installer because he is my grandfather. He gave completely wrong advice, and now we are left very disappointed. It doesn’t matter to me whether it’s family or not. We are paying a very high price for something we never wanted.

So, in short: "I don't have a photo for you today!"
And no photo will be posted.
Is the situation even real?I didn’t know you could be so poetic.Everyone, please stay calm!
Most people probably know that disagreements within the family during a build are almost inevitable. However, it’s likely much rarer that grandpa buys the wrong windows.
Why not upload some pictures so we can get a better idea? Is it about the interior or the exterior?
It’s challenging when you have a clear vision of something, and then it turns out completely different. At first, it can be really hard to adjust. But in many cases, time will heal the wounds, and eventually, you might end up liking it!
So, keep your spirits up, and as mentioned, maybe there’s a simple solution (like applying a film or something) to fix it.
Good luck!

My grandfather says that if the structure is not what we want, we need to explicitly tell the company again. Somehow, he just doesn’t understand that he made the mistake and simply placed the order like that!Things are going wrong here. Apparently, you are talking about assigning blame, and you deny any shared responsibility for your decision. Rejecting that and “assigning blame” is a widespread and – sorry – very unwise tactic when negotiating. The point is to get the right windows. Your grandfather will see it that way too. Then you can work together towards a solution – whether through insurance or by other means.
Good luck.
Well-intentioned @hampshire
But the flyer shows what he currently has and probably unknowingly ordered. That’s how I understand it.
It goes without saying that blaming others doesn’t lead anywhere. However, acknowledging one’s own fault here would be appropriate and would also help clarify the situation.

We didn’t sign anything! He placed the order without our signature. We have checked and unfortunately, there is nothing we can do. A lawyer would be extremely expensive, and there’s no guarantee of success. It’s a shame, but we will have to live with it.Then just don’t pay if you haven’t signed anything.
