Hello dear home builders,

Do you have a water softening system? Is it really worth it, or is it just a money-making scheme?
Our architect recommended one to us, but the question is whether the 3000 euros really justify it.
I think that’s a lot of money.

That’s why we have a separate pipe in the kitchen that only supplies the sink. The sink is made of porcelain, so limescale isn’t as much of an issue there. This means that all the water in the house is otherwise softened, except for the water I will be drinking.

I like the demineralized water, since we have our own carbonated water. I was worried at first, but it tastes good.
The tea is said to taste better too, according to my husband—I don’t drink tea.

And the fact that my scalp no longer itches is a dream!

Lime is beneficial for humans, so it should not be filtered out.

You just shouldn’t remove it completely. Many people seem to make this mistake. It should be at least 6 times the thickness of the thermal insulation.

But not more than 20 on the scalp... 6 is more than enough.

Hey,
sorry if I’m playing the party pooper and digging up an old thread again.

In my opinion, 6 GDH are already sufficient, especially if you still have old pipes, as they might get damaged otherwise.
