Hi!

For our building project, we have decided to switch from plastic windows to wood-aluminum windows (probably Ideal or Zöllner). It’s definitely a different class and, in our opinion, worth the money.

Right now, we’re a bit stuck choosing the wood type. Pine was offered first, but somehow we’re not really happy with it. Spruce is more appealing. However, we don’t want to deal with the possible yellowing. Is that really a big issue? Is it better to go with natural spruce? Oiled? Whitewash glazed? Or perhaps a different wood species?

We also really like oak, for example. But financially, we don’t want to go overboard...

What do you think?

Why jump straight from one extreme to the other? Wood-aluminum windows are the most complex; and if they are offered cheaper than aluminum ones, I would be cautious.
