Hello House Building Forum users,

Who among you has experience with windows from Poland or Bosnia?

I look forward to your helpful feedback.

I would also like to know which company it is. Is there any reason not to mention it here?

Statements about companies that might need to prove their legal validity are discussed in a moderated section. However, simply mentioning the name of a company you recommend is generally allowed everywhere without issue. I myself couldn’t meaningfully name our former suppliers here, as none of them supply end customers. We had some suppliers in Poland and Slovakia who were recommendable, and in the timber sector, there are, to my knowledge, good ones in Austria (with whom we had no business relations but who do supply end customers as far as I know; however, no specific names come to mind right now – I may have shared my opinion on this in relevant threads).

Our supplier serves end customers. The manager comes and takes measurements personally before the order. The company also has a location in Germany. Therefore, you only pay 19% instead of 23% VAT. The place is called Labradoor, and we visited them in Szczecin.

Thanks for the information! I think the name has already come up here. Unfortunately, the website is only in Polish, and I don’t understand it. How can someone get pricing information if they don’t live nearby (and don’t speak Polish)?

My "all-in-one" tradesperson installed dormer windows for me, and the price was so low (including installation) that I was quite surprised and wanted to research what he might have paid for the windows. So far, the windows seem to be of fairly good quality, which shouldn’t really be the case at that price.

Without knowing Polish, it will be difficult. You can try calling them and hope someone speaks German. We are both native Polish speakers, so that was not a problem.

Regarding prices, it depends on the door, and they always vary. This was confirmed on site as well. About six months ago, prices were changing almost weekly.

They distribute various brands. Affordable ones like Dre, for example, up to the ones we chose.
Entrance door brand Parmax
Interior doors brand Inter Door.

I had no idea what options are available for entrance doors. From fingerprint access to app-controlled opening and a so-called day-night function, which prevents the door from locking automatically when it closes.

You can also order roller shutters including Somfy systems, window sills, and windows there.

We also ordered a Parmax door from the X-Factor collection. It is a wooden door with a highly insulated core, flush glass panels on both sides, fingerprint sensor, GU A-opener servo...
What I can say, though, is that good quality “made in Poland” costs quite a bit. According to the list price, the door is about 10,000 euros (around $11,000)! Since we reserved a display model, we are paying only 50% of that (+ delivery and installation).

@11ant
Does the name Aliplast ring a bell? It’s a Belgian aluminum profile manufacturer. We’ve now received what I think is a good offer based on Aliplast profiles. The difference compared to the Kömmerling uPVC profiles is less than 2,000 euros (around $2,200).

What I have to say is that good quality "made in Poland" also costs a lot of money.

I don’t know the manufacturer right now, but our Tom, who was kicked out four times (now called Ybias78 again in the green forum), buys from a manufacturer in Poland (he also speaks the language). If you know where to find good quality there, it’s possible (our suppliers did not sell directly to end customers).

Yes, I’m familiar with it and would consider it recommendable. Several good white-label manufacturers are located in the Benelux region.
