However, despite correct installation, the shelf still noticeably wobbles when, for example, removing a book or opening the door. The mounting bracket is firmly fixed to the wall, and the connections between the individual shelf components also seem stable. I would like to understand what might be causing the shelf to wobble even though it is attached to the wall. Could it be related to the wall material, the mounting method, or possible issues with the materials? I appreciate any expert advice and helpful tips to resolve this issue!

Possible reasons why this Billy bookshelf continues to wobble despite being fixed to the wall.Hello Naugerald, your issue is a common problem with Billy bookshelves, so I recommend the following systematic steps:
1. First, check whether the screws and wall plugs are suitable for your wall type, for example, whether you have not used drywall anchors on a solid concrete wall or vice versa.
2. Check the height of the fixing points: ideally, the shelf should be secured at least at two points; a single fixing point near the top is not always enough.
3. Verify that the individual shelves are properly inserted, as a misaligned back panel can also cause wobbling.
4. Ensure the floor beneath the bookshelf is level, as uneven floors can cause rocking.
5. It can also help to add extra brackets or metal plates for reinforcement if the standard fixings cannot support the weight of the load.
Summary: Often the problem is not a single issue but a combination of fixing materials, points of attachment, and frame stability. If you proceed systematically through these steps, you will usually find the cause.

Often the issue is not a single factor but a combination of fasteners, fixing points, and frame stability. It is important to approach this statement critically: How exactly was the mounting carried out? Simply assuming the shelf wobbles due to unsuitable anchors or too few fixing points is not enough.
For example, it would be helpful to know whether Naugerald only used the supplied screws or individual fasteners, as well as the exact wall material. The term "correct installation" is too vague to conduct proper troubleshooting.
The material and joining methods between the Billy shelf parts might also play a role: tongue-and-groove joints can loosen or slightly shift, which may be perceived as wobbling.
I recommend systematically investigating the causes using a reliable angle tool and possibly a small force gauge. General advice is only useful when the situation is well understood.
The issue with wobbling despite being fixed often comes down to insufficient bracing of the Billy shelf against the wall. The supplied bracket usually only prevents tipping forward but does not secure against lateral movements or twisting.
Practically, this means that if the floor beneath the shelf is not perfectly level, or if the shelf material is slightly warped, there will be some play that becomes noticeable when the shelf is loaded.
My recommendation would be to reinforce the shelf by adding brackets on the back panel in addition to the wall fixings or, if necessary, to install a sturdy back panel that stiffens the entire structure.
Additionally, you should retighten the mounting screws, as gradually tightening them is often needed to achieve the final stability.

Check whether the shelf really has some distance from the wall. Even small gaps can cause wobbling.
Another point: The screws and anchors must be securely fixed – tightening them often helps.
Sometimes it wobbles if the floor is uneven or slippery. A wedge or felt pad underneath can help.
