We need to decide whether to install a standard Velux roof window that can be rotated, or a top-hung pivot window. The latter is significantly more expensive, and we need two of them.
In terms of ventilation or the view, it is definitely the better option.
But aside from the cost: maybe I’m thinking about this the wrong way, but don’t top-hung pivot windows potentially encourage young children to climb on the roof?

We will also go with the standard windows. We don’t really see a significant advantage in these tilt-and-turn windows. Basically, they are a neat feature, but our main priority is to flood rather dark rooms with more light, and there are so many other items where we can spend the money instead…
