Hello everyone, I recently purchased some Malm furniture from IKEA and I'm wondering: which spare parts for Malm furniture are especially important and commonly needed? Especially for drawers, runners, screws, or fittings – are there parts that are easily lost or damaged and therefore best kept as replacements? I would appreciate a detailed assessment, ideally including experiences with which parts tend to wear out or break most often. Thanks!

Could spare part availability be a problem if you have owned Malm furniture for several years?

Unfortunately, that can sometimes happen, especially with truly older furniture! But often, the parts are very similar or identical, so you can usually find compatible rollers or screws even for older pieces. For example, I repaired a drawer from 8 years ago – the spare parts were still available, which was really great! 🙂

whether these spare parts also depend heavily on the specific model

With Malm, many things are quite standardized, especially the drawer runners, which are mostly standard models with only minor differences sometimes. So: spare parts for Malm are often quite compatible.
