Hello everyone, I recently purchased an IKEA Brimnes bedside table with drawers and have encountered some issues with the drawer slides. Specifically, the following points:

- The drawer runners feel unstable when opening and closing; sometimes they rattle or get stuck.
- After a short time, it becomes harder to remove the drawers, and the sliding motion no longer feels smooth.
- It seems that dust or small particles accumulate quickly, interfering with the mechanism.
- Additionally, I noticed that adjusting the drawer slides is rather awkward, and some screws do not provide a secure fixation.

Has anyone else experienced similar problems with the Brimnes drawer slides? What specific issues did you face, and how did you resolve them? I look forward to a detailed discussion, as I want to understand whether this is a general quality problem or only happening in my case.

Basically, the drawer slides used in IKEA Brimnes are standard ball-bearing slides, which come with certain compromises given the price.

- The rattling noise often results from loose screws or uneven load distribution.
- Dust frequently gets into the slide tracks and hinders smooth movement.
- Regular cleaning can help improve this situation.

Regarding adjustment:
- Screws in the slides usually serve as locks rather than fine-tuning mechanisms.
- For precise alignment, it is important to ensure that all mounting points are installed evenly.

However, the material quality is rather low, which can lead to wear and tear over time.

I can confirm this, especially if the drawers are used frequently, the runners on Brimnes tend to wear out quickly.

A common issue is that the runners are not manufactured with high precision, which increases friction and causes a feeling of "sticking" or "catching."

For those with technical skills, you can check the following points:
- Are the runners or ball bearings dirty or damaged?
- Has the drawer been installed and aligned correctly?

I have already replaced the runners in my unit with higher-quality ones, which completely solved the problem.

I also had problems with the sticking drawer slide. First clean it, then lubricate lightly with silicone spray – that helped me.

The rattling is really annoying, but I’m taking it in stride: at this price, you might be able to replace them every two years and still come out ahead. 😉

But seriously, I would recommend not overloading the drawers permanently – that will quickly damage the sliding rails. Also, the runners should be checked and cleaned regularly. It’s not high-end furniture hardware, but rather mass-produced quality.

A quick addition: In my case, the screws on the guides were not fully tightened. After that, everything worked much better.
