Hello everyone, I’m planning to assemble my IKEA Platsa wardrobe myself soon and I’m wondering what common mistakes I should definitely avoid. I’m especially interested in whether there are any pitfalls during the assembly of the modules or when mounting the wardrobe to the wall that I should be aware of beforehand. Additionally, tips on the correct handling of screws and fittings would be helpful, as I have often heard that missing or improper tightening of screws can cause problems. Who has experience with the Platsa system and can provide specific advice on which errors to avoid, especially regarding connection points or alignment?
A supplementary point regarding error prevention: The Platsa modules are sturdy, but due to the MDF components, they are relatively sensitive to moisture. Make sure the floor is completely dry and clean before installation. Also, when fitting drawers, avoid misaligning the slides. One tip: carefully insert the drawers first and check that they slide smoothly before fully securing the entire assembly. This helps prevent the need for adjustments later on.
