schroedinxer12 Jun 2020 22:20We are currently building a prefabricated house and are undecided between the "almost finished" and "almost finished plus" construction stages.
Scope of work "Almost finished" includes:
Sanitary pre-installation in the walls including water manifold
Interior and exterior walls closed
Scope of work "Almost finished plus" includes:
Sanitary pre-installation in the walls including water manifold
Interior and exterior walls closed
Bathrooms with sanitary fixtures
Bathrooms with wall and floor tiles
Does anyone have experience with sanitary pre-installations in prefabricated houses? Since the walls are already closed, everything should theoretically be in place. Does this mean we can simply mount the sanitary fixtures on the wall, or do we need to reopen the walls to install flush tanks and other components?
I look forward to your feedback. If it only involves tiling and screwing on the sanitary fixtures, "almost finished" would be the preferred option. We do not want to reopen the walls anymore.

Of course, the walls are closed and nothing more needs to be installed inside. What follows now is the coordination between the tiler and the plumber. After the rough-in plumbing is done, the tiles are installed, then the sanitary fixtures are mounted, grouted, and that’s it.O
Osnabruecker12 Jun 2020 22:44These are basic contract elements. They should be clearly defined.
If anything is unclear to you, it’s a good idea to ask here first.
However, even if opinions are shared here, they are not part of the contract. The company might interpret things differently than the forum, which could lead to unnecessary disputes.
Use the forum for advice, but make sure to clarify everything directly with the company. Depending on your relationship, definitely get it in writing.
I assume the contract includes more details than just “sanitary rooms with sanitary fixtures,” etc.?

schroedinxer14 Jun 2020 09:23Thank you very much for your feedback. An inquiry has revealed:
The installation walls are completed with the necessary pre-installations for the toilet, washbasin, shower, etc. The washbasins, toilets, fixtures, and so on are then connected or mounted onto these pre-installations.
I understand this to mean that I “only” need to procure and install the sanitary fixtures myself, as Vicky Pedia also mentioned.
Does anyone else know how the installation walls are constructed in prefabricated buildings? I assume they are also built as timber stud walls rather than with standard drywall profiles. That wouldn’t make much sense for assembly in the factory hall.

While I had absolutely no doubt about the word in your first question (and did not consider it a foolish mistake)
Osnabruecker schrieb:this should be explicitly included in the building specifications, at least the general wall structure as well as in the sanitary area, along with a note transitioning from installation walls to sanitary walls.
Does anyone perhaps still know how the installation walls are constructed in prefabricated buildings?
Hello,
once all the walls are closed and the rough-in plumbing is completed, please make sure that the connections match the sanitary fixtures you have chosen, any desired built-in fittings are installed, and reinforcements for the washbasin, mirror cabinet, and other items are in place.
If you want a really polished look, the tile dimensions are also crucial for the rough installation.
