ᐅ What does "pre-installation of plumbing within the walls" mean?

We are currently building a prefabricated house and are undecided between the "almost finished" and "almost finished plus" construction stages.

Scope of work "Almost finished" includes:
Sanitary pre-installation in the walls including water manifold
Interior and exterior walls closed

Scope of work "Almost finished plus" includes:
Sanitary pre-installation in the walls including water manifold
Interior and exterior walls closed
Bathrooms with sanitary fixtures
Bathrooms with wall and floor tiles

Does anyone have experience with sanitary pre-installations in prefabricated houses? Since the walls are already closed, everything should theoretically be in place. Does this mean we can simply mount the sanitary fixtures on the wall, or do we need to reopen the walls to install flush tanks and other components?

I look forward to your feedback. If it only involves tiling and screwing on the sanitary fixtures, "almost finished" would be the preferred option. We do not want to reopen the walls anymore.

Thank you for your tips. We have now received confirmation that the concealed cisterns are in place and have inquired about the mounting of the washbasin countertop and vessel sink. Currently, threaded rods are planned for 60cm (24 inches) washbasins. That definitely would not have fit!

Hiltischwinger’s favorite connection method is called “masonry shell construction,” because with timber frame construction you really have to rethink the approach (and actually include the installation walls within the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing trade scope).
