Hello everyone,

I’m interested in knowing which ceiling height you have chosen or are likely to choose.

Are you satisfied with your choice? Looking back, would you choose a different ceiling height? If yes, why?

Best regards
Ddorfer

P.S. For the survey, please select the ceiling height that is closest to yours.

I am really uncertain.

We are planning for a ceiling height of 2.57 meters (8 feet 5 inches). However, our living and dining area will be 50 square meters (540 square feet). I am genuinely worried that this might feel oppressive.

We have about 53 sqm (570 sq ft) of living-dining-kitchen area, separated by a double-wing sliding door that is always open. The ceiling height is 2.6 m (8.5 ft). So nothing feels oppressive.

How tall are you? I think that has even more influence on the perception of space than the ceiling height itself.

We are 1.85 and 1.75 meters (6 ft 1 in and 5 ft 9 in).
In our apartment, we currently have 2.43 meters (8 ft) of height.

What would an additional 10cm (4 inches) of ceiling height cost? Are your current 2.43m (8 feet) ceilings bothering you?
Is the room square, or is it a classic L-shape?

The room is rectangular.

I can’t tell you how much half a brick, meaning 12.5cm (5 inches), would cost more. We are building with an architect and individual contracts.

We are just about to finalize the building permit / planning permission application, so we should have this point clarified beforehand.

If you’re worrying about it that much, just take half a brick more. In my opinion, 2.57 m (8 feet 5 inches) is enough—but better than wondering "what if" for the rest of your life.
