Hello everyone,
I’m interested in knowing which ceiling height you have chosen or are likely to choose.
Are you satisfied with your choice? Looking back, would you choose a different ceiling height? If yes, why?
Best regards
Ddorfer
P.S. For the survey, please select the ceiling height that is closest to yours.

And the height of the windows?
We are planning a clear room height of 2.72m (8 ft 11 in).
Floor-to-ceiling double doors are 2.25m (7 ft 5 in) high,
plus the box for the external venetian blinds. Does that work?

Hello,
This thread made us realize that the planned ceiling height for the large kitchen/dining/living area might be a bit low. So far, we planned about 2.625 m (8 ft 7 in) wall height, which equals about 2.45 m (8 ft 0 in) clear room height. Now we would like to build half a brick higher, so approximately 2.75 m (9 ft 0 in) wall height and about 2.57 m (8 ft 5 in) clear room height. We hope that this change is still possible after the building permit / planning permission has been granted.
Now to the actual question: which door and window heights would you recommend? We would like the floor-to-ceiling windows in the kitchen/dining/living area to be as tall as possible. Above these, there will be the roller shutter box, and from the available height, about 5 cm (2 inches) need to be deducted for insulation under the terrace roof.
We are planning to consult a window manufacturer soon, but independent preliminary information would, of course, be helpful. This also interests me.

You also need to consider the lintel and, depending on the floor, possibly the ring beam.
Our non-floor-to-ceiling windows are just under 80cm (31 inches) high. We preferred this look since some of these windows are also continuously 2 meters (79 inches) wide.
Otherwise, I would have chosen a height of about 1–1.10m (39–43 inches). Hi Jochen,
do you happen to have a photo of this?
We are facing the same decision. Room height (clear height) is 2.72m (9 feet), window width 2 meters (79 inches), sill height 88.5cm (35 inches).
How would an 80cm (31 inches) height feel in practice? Is there enough space below the window?
Thanks and best regards
