Hello everyone,

I am currently facing the challenge of precisely aligning Ikea Metod kitchen cabinet doors. My goal is to adjust all the doors so that they close flush and evenly, without tilted gaps or uneven spacing. I have already tried the included screws and the adjustment options on the hinges, but I am finding it difficult to achieve a consistently even front.

Therefore, my question to the community is: What proven installation tips are there specifically for the precise alignment of Ikea Metod doors? Are there recommended sequences, technical tricks, or tools you would suggest? Any advice on how best to use the adjustment screws or how to correct possible warping would also be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance for your help!

If the doors hang slightly crooked, you can sometimes use small felt spacers on the cabinet sides to help even out any unevenness.

That’s a very good tip! Especially with older floors or slight warping of cabinet edges, this simple solution can help align the doors neatly without much effort. It is important, however, that the felt pieces are not too thick, otherwise the visual appearance may become distorted again.

Exactly. Additionally, if the doors still do not close evenly, check the seals at the bottom. Sometimes they cause slight obstruction and prevent a perfectly aligned front.

Well, that sounds like a real craftsman’s challenge! 😄 My advice: Stay patient and make yourself a small checklist for the adjustments:

- Level the cabinet frame
- Hang all the doors
- Check the gaps using a ruler or measuring gauge
- Adjust the screws step-by-step (first height, then width, then depth)
- After each major adjustment, open and close the doors several times

And very important: Good lighting helps a lot so you can clearly see all gaps and edges. If everything goes well, it’s really fun to get the front perfectly aligned. And don’t worry if it doesn’t fit immediately – craftsmanship takes time!
