Hello. We built a terrace using sandstone blocks. Now, we plan to construct a garden wall around the property, also to provide some slope stabilization. However, we want to use shelly limestone crust wall stones for this. Above this wall on the street side, there will be a hedge planting. Eventually, the garden wall and terrace will no longer be visible together. Do you think they can be seen together at least at the beginning? There is a distance of several meters between the terrace and the wall.

Is an aerial photo available? Bing Maps usually has better images than Google Maps.

It doesn't matter if we like it. You have to like it. After all, you’re not building a house or landscaping to please others, right? If you find it beautiful, then that's wonderful.

True... unfortunately, you only realize afterwards, when it’s already too late, whether it was a good decision :-)

You can mix materials (in the garden) – in fact, you should mix materials to create contrast.
You can also mix natural stones. For example, a terrace here, a wall over there: in between, nature breaks it up or complements it 🙂

Sandstone and shell limestone have a similar color tone, right? With sandstone, dark gray could also create a nice contrast, but that’s just my personal opinion 🙂
