Hey everyone,

In my new room, I have a sofa and a bed, and I thought it would be great to watch Netflix from both spots using a swivel TV mount. To make this work, I would need to attach the mount to the side of the Kallax shelf unit. I think that with a wooden board inside the shelf, long screws, and possibly cavity wall anchors, the mount should safely hold the TV (weighing about 10 kilograms (22 pounds)), right?

Or would you recommend against this? Do you have any tips?

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Greg

Hello,
if you drill through and use the wooden board on the other side along with carriage bolts, I think it will hold. It would probably be more secure to use a wooden board on both sides that is wider than the hole spacing. In any case, I would only do this if the shelf is fixed to the wall.
Whether the honeycomb structure can withstand the pressure over time, you will see eventually.
Have you checked on Ikea hackers to see if anyone has done something similar with KALLAX or EXPEDIT?
