we are currently building a semi-detached house. Our builder told us that the cable TV connection is also installed by Telekom. He said that there is always just one cable carrying everything (telephone, cable TV, everything).
I wanted to ask, with this cable connection from Telekom, is it possible later to choose Kabel Deutschland/Vodafone as the provider for cable internet? Or would Kabel Deutschland need to carry out construction work?

No, no cancellation period. You have Telekom fiber optic all the way to your house, I bet, and you could now get TV through it as well, in addition to high-speed internet and voice calls. You just have to include that in your contract. There is a TV set-top box for that.
But don’t do it! It’s too expensive. A satellite system is cheaper. Just do the math. A satellite system costs around 500,-. No monthly fee. The extra charge for phone and TV is probably about 20,- per month. After about two years, the satellite system is cheaper. Karsten

Or does KD then have to carry out construction measures? Yes.These are two different things:
Cable TV
Telecom providers no longer offer cable TV; the cable companies were sold off a long time ago, separately in each federal state. Also to Kabel Deutschland, now Vodafone.
Only one cable TV provider can be connected in a house.
Triple Play
Triple Play is offered by Telecom providers. However, it does not come through cable TV networks but via DSL. Triple Play means phone + internet + broadcasting, all through the same connection.
It is perfectly possible to have a cable TV subscription from KD for phone service only, and a Triple Play connection from Telecom for TV viewing only, using both for internet surfing. For example.

I’m bringing this up again to avoid starting a new topic.
Telecom... our development has exclusive access to them because of fiber to the home. Cable Germany is not available here. They weren’t allowed in. That alone wouldn’t be a big deal. But I ordered a phone line in January. Now it’s the end of October, and nothing. The cable is in the house, the gray box is installed, done. No signal. Week 45 was promised now because of some distribution box. I don’t care why.
The phone works fine with an iPhone. TV is via satellite. I definitely won’t be ordering that from them.
And internet is through Vodafone Gigacube LTE. That’s a great tip for bridging the gap. Fast, simple, and fairly affordable.
