Hello,
I would really like to have a stream in my garden, but unfortunately, I have no slope, so I can’t imagine how that would work. How can I create a stream in a flat garden? So far, I haven’t been able to find any information about this. Is it even possible?

Hello Klaus,
even if you don’t have a slope, it is possible to create a streambed. You will just need to install a pump to keep the water flowing. However, you should still identify the lowest point in your garden, as the water should flow there. There are very nice basins available that can realistically simulate a stream.

It is not true that no slope is needed; a slight incline is necessary, otherwise the water cannot flow. Relying on a pump alone will not move the water from point A to point B. Additionally, it always looks more natural when there is a small slope. If you don’t have that, then a pond would be a better solution.

We also built a small stream using a liner, but it was really difficult because there were constant leaks and the liner spread the water everywhere except where we wanted it. In the end, we decided to buy prefabricated basins.
