I have a Malm bed that is 140cm (55 inches) wide. I recently bought a new slatted bed base with a frame (previously, I had one without a frame). The problem is that the base slides around because there is more than 2cm (1 inch) of space, and the metal rails are too narrow.

My roommate seems to have had the same issue; I need to ask him tomorrow how he solved it.

Any suggestions? Going back to Ikea for a replacement is not an option since the bed is already older than 2 years...

I would simply have a few wooden battens cut to the right length at the hardware store and place them underneath. So basically, just create a new framework.

I have exactly the same problem. It’s not really that bad because my mattress is just about 2cm (1 inch) lower on one side than on the other. But it does look odd. I’m also grateful for any advice 🙂
