Hello,
how much space is there behind Metod base cabinets for cables routed on the surface?
If I understand correctly, there should be some gap between the wall and the top of the plinth (8cm (3 inches)), right?

I would appreciate any advice.

Hello,

1 cm (0.4 inches). You can also place cabinets with a larger gap from the wall, but it might become tight with the IKEA standard countertop depth. However, this is not a big issue with a Personlig countertop.

Hmm... and at the base, up to 8cm (3 inches) in height? How much space is there between that and the wall? At IKEA, they just told me there would be enough room for a really thick cable duct. Could that be correct?

The cabinet stands on feet or is hung on the wall rail. The "base" is a plinth panel that is only attached to the front of the feet. This means there is more than 50cm (20 inches) of space behind it.

Hm... okay, I have to ask this way: How much space is there between the rear legs and the wall? Or are there no legs at the back at all because of the track?

Unfortunately, I don’t know the exact spacing, but if necessary, you are free to drill holes yourself if the feet need to be adjusted slightly. I have actually read several times that people use the rail at the back and feet at the front. (I’m considering this too, since it’s quite difficult to access the back for adjustments.)
