Hello everyone,
We are currently in the construction phase of our single-family home. We are actively gathering ideas to make daily life in the new house easier.
So far, we have:
- A laundry chute from the bathroom on the upper floor to the washing machine in the basement
- A platform for the washing machine to allow easy loading and unloading
- Pantry shelving with rotating trays
We have also considered:
- Building a small utility room behind the living room cabinet (sideboard) to house all the TV equipment (satellite box, DVD player, receiver, hard drive, etc.) out of sight
To illustrate, I’m attaching three photos.
Maybe some of you have a nice REALISTIC idea that could be implemented.
Thank you in advance for your ideas!
Best regards,
Slintrebla

Not sure if it has already been mentioned:
We had an intercom system installed for the front door on the upper floor.
Otherwise:
Central control system for each floor and a timer with astro function for all roller shutters
At least 2 satellite and LAN connections in every room
Satellite and LAN connections in the garage
Heating and controlled mechanical ventilation can be controlled via internet/app
Garage door controllable from inside
Electrical connection prepared in the garden
Water connection in the garage
Oven and dishwasher installed at a raised height (the dishwasher is used more often than the oven)
Bathroom mirror with integrated heating
What we forgot:
Power outlet at the front door, inside and outside
Roller shutter on the glass element next to the front door
A few extra power outlets here and there

A personal atmosphere cannot be measured or rationally compared in a savings or insulation model. This makes it intangible for some people. And some people like to impose their personal taste on others. Either you like a fireplace or you don’t. That should be the deciding factor when choosing to install one. Technically, both options are fully feasible.
