As part of building a new single-family home, I am currently looking into rainwater tanks. We definitely want to use the water for garden irrigation, and possibly also supply the toilet and washing machine, depending on the costs for the plumbing and so on. There are 3-4 people living in the house, and our garden is about 300m² (3,230 sq ft). We were thinking of a tank with a capacity of around 5,000 liters (1,320 gallons). Does that sound about right? Does anyone have experience with this?
Are there any suppliers or tanks you would recommend?

Lol, 5000 liters is just a joke. For example, lawn needs between 10-20 liters per m2 per week (0.3-0.7 gallons per ft2 per week).
Try to channel as much as possible into the rainwater tank. It also saves stormwater fees.
Double piping, faster wear on equipment, system separation, etc., all cost money. That’s why using rainwater for toilets and so on doesn’t pay off.
As a supplier, you can check out Graf. I would consider something around 10-20 m3 (350-700 cubic feet).
Personally, I have 76 m3 (2685 cubic feet).
