Hello!

Question about the shower tray: We will have a shower tray with a height of 6.5 cm (2.5 inches) in the guest bathroom to prevent water from spilling out. Now the question is whether to install the tray before the screed and then "step down" or to install it after the screed and then "step up." The plumbing expert says both options are possible. How did you handle this, or is there anything else to consider?

Thanks!

Build a base to enter almost at ground level? Otherwise, I would probably install it after the screed, as this makes future modifications easier to carry out.

Hello,
leave out the screed in the area of the shower tray and have the tray installed after the wall tiles are finished! Installing it flush with the floor is the correct approach here.

Best regards

What exactly do you mean: a shower tray, a bathtub, or a bathtub with a shower function?
I’ll assume you mean a shower tray.

First, leave out the screed and the areas for the shower tray and bathtub.
If it definitely has to be a shower tray, there are also ones with just a small wall that barely keeps the water contained.
Alternatively, level or slightly sloped tiled showers with glass doors are also possible for small showers.

If possible (also considering older age), avoid having to step up or down. Small steps are okay (keep age in mind).
