Hello,
we are planning a recessed niche/shelf in our shower measuring 50 x 30cm (20 x 12 inches). The site manager asked me at what height we would like to have it. Therefore, my question to you is: who else has a similar niche/shelf and at what height does yours start? It would also be interesting to compare your measurements.

Thank you in advance

Hello,

I strongly assume that this measurement refers to the top edge of the screed, and you still need to subtract the floor tile, the adhesive, and probably even the waterproofing.

I can gladly measure this evening how high the window sill is above the finished floor level.

In any case, our joints are definitely not 2.16 cm (0.85 inches) thick.

Dirk

Hehe, I think so too. It would be great if you could measure that this evening. I need to inform our site manager by tomorrow at the latest about how we want it.

Honestly, I have no idea how wide a joint is. Nowadays, they are even narrower than before, so I’d guess about 0.5 cm (0.2 inches).

Will do. I think I will enter it here this evening.

Just going by intuition, I would even expect narrower joints – but as I said, I will measure and post it here.

Best regards,

Dirk

Good evening, were you able to measure the height of the niche yet?

Tommes... seriously, what does it help you to know whether it’s 123 cm (48 inches) or 125 cm (49 inches)?
