Hello everyone,
due to the persistent joint issues with tiles, we want to use aluminum composite shower wall panels for the showers (actually three panels per shower).
Glass would also be nice, but probably a lot more expensive.
Now I wanted to ask what your experiences are with aluminum composite panels as shower walls? Can you recommend or not recommend certain manufacturers (due to quality issues)?
What needs to be considered regardless of the manufacturer? The joints around the panels will probably be sealed with sanitary silicone, right? Of course, after a few years, each silicone joint will need to be replaced.
Thank you very much for your experiences.

I once had samples sent to me, and I would recommend that to you as well.
Personally, we did not like the feel of the material.

So just touch and feel a shower wall panel yourself and then decide.
Maybe someone else here also has experience with shower wall panels.

Okay. Which shower back panel did you decide on?

Just use a large-format tile as the shower back wall. This way, you won’t have any grout lines.

Sounds good, but aren’t they even more expensive than a glass shower wall?

I am familiar with these concerns, but we chose tiles because every building material comes with its own challenges. Large-format tiles with narrow, gray grout lines—I find that ideal. We have 60cm x 60cm (24in x 24in) tiles; they look stylish, are easy to maintain, and affordable.
