There is a dedicated thread for houses here, but it takes such a long time from buying the plot until you can finally share something that looks like a developing house in that thread. Maybe you would like to share your excitement about the “acquired” plot and a photo of the land here in the forum.
Below is a photo of the plot belonging to me and my husband, located in the Leipzig area, approximately 570 sqm (6135 sq ft). Behind the house is a field, and beyond that, a forest.

I was very fortunate to be able to take a portion of a 40,000 sqm (10 acres) field from my parents' farm. Building with a special permit was a bit more time-consuming, but still doable. The plot is located just outside the village center. Since the surveying office did not accept my stakeouts (because the parcel would not form a rectangle on the cadastral map), the planned 700 sqm (7,500 sq ft) became nearly 1,200 sqm (13,000 sq ft) :-( (unfortunately, this increased the development costs).

View from the southwest towards northeast.

Naturliebhaber20 Jul 2020 17:35To find our plot of land, we met with the mayor one weekend. He personally showed us around the area and introduced us to what the community had available. However, nothing suitable was among those options. So, we placed an ad in the local community newsletter. That’s when the previous owner contacted us. When I received the first photos by email, my heart immediately started racing... and when the location turned out to be right, we knew we had found our plot!
