Hello,

When is it common to waterproof the concrete slab from the top, I mean at what stage? The construction company plans to do this before the roof is installed. Is that a good approach? Won't rainwater then accumulate inside the house?

The question is whether it will dry if the weather becomes more humid now.

No, he doesn’t want to place the partition walls directly on the raw concrete slab.
I really understood it this way:
Finish the exterior walls, complete the waterproofing on the slab, and then build the partition walls on top of that.
And I have doubts whether that is okay.
Is there some special material under the walls and a normal bitumen membrane elsewhere?

Once the roof is in place and there is ventilation, it will dry out.
No waterproofing membrane (roofing felt) should be installed under the masonry.

So, is it technically incorrect to apply the waterproofing directly to the walls?

Yes, but not on bitumen membrane. How else should it be sealed tightly?

I’m talking about the fully sealed foundation slab and building the walls on top.

It’s clear that a waterproofing layer needs to be applied underneath during construction.

However, these seem to be different materials.

Could it also be that he wants to use a sanded bitumen membrane for the entire concrete slab? Would that be technically acceptable?
