ᐅ Remove the care label from the IKEA Alvine Spets curtain

Hello everyone!

I’m currently facing a problem that’s driving me almost crazy.

Two days ago, I bought the ALVINE Spets curtain at IKEA and was excited to hang it up – but I noticed that the care label / washing instructions are sewn into the curtain hem.

How can I remove this label from the IKEA ALVINE Spets without having to undo the seam?
Of course, I’ve already emailed IKEA but have not received a reply yet.

Hi,

you should be able to cut it out with nail scissors or a craft knife without damaging the seam. However, it is actually supposed to stay on so you always know what to watch out for when washing. 😉

Yes, it’s clear that the label should stay on so I know how to wash the curtain. But the place where the label is attached is visible at the top of the tunnel hem. It’s a huge white tag, about 8cm (3 inches) long and wide, hanging halfway inside the tunnel hem. And the curtain is more like a mosquito net 😀

When I chose the curtain (at my local Ikea), the label was removed and the curtain was hanging there without that annoying tag.

You really can’t hang the curtain with this tag on!

I also already spoke with Ikea customer service. The lady was very nice and helpful, but had never heard of this problem before. She advised me to take the curtain to my local Ikea and show it to them because the spot where the label is sewn on is totally “pointless.” 😀

Did I perhaps get a “Monday curtain”? 😕

So, I was quite brave and cut out the label with the nail scissors. 😀

Ikea also replied and recommended exactly this to me. 😉
