Hello,

I am looking for a clear answer.

Our house is about to be plastered on the inside, but before that, the vapor barrier needs to be properly installed. I have heard that it is advisable to fill in any wall chases (created for electrical wiring) before applying the interior plaster to prevent cracking.

Is this correct?

Our builder would not do this and considers it unnecessary.

What is the right approach?

It would be wise to do so. Plaster that is too thick shrinks during drying to such an extent that cracks can and likely will occur.

I almost expected that.

They are just the slots made by the electrician in the Poroton blocks.

My site manager said that was unnecessary.

Then do it yourself. WE Attack.

I'm already working on it, based on a recommendation 😉

I always do this in the evening after work.

It's a shame that the structural engineer doesn’t handle this.

Especially since he advertises uncompromising quality.

60 kg (132 lbs) are already in the slots.

Ours didn’t do it either. For some outlets, there was nothing done, while for others, I had to redo it using tube filler. Our walls are not wallpapered.
