AndyHH_653729 Sep 2012 14:33Hello,
my first post here and also my first problem.
Our new Faktum kitchen in Abstract Red looks great. However, I have an issue with the water drainage in the Atlant sink.
From my amateur perspective, I believe I installed everything correctly, but the water drains from the sink very, very slowly. When the dishwasher pumps out, water even gets pushed back into the sink.
The strange thing is, when I remove the drain hose from the wall drain pipe and hold it into a bucket, the water flows perfectly. Even if I insert the drain hose just one centimeter (0.4 inch) into the wall drain, it drains, but water also leaks beside it.
Does anyone have any ideas? – I’m not happy with it this way!

IKEA-Experte30 Sep 2012 13:13From the picture, it seems to be correct. I would just try to turn the trap to the back right and then guide the hose "straight" into the drain pipe. As far as I can see, this would create more space in the cabinet and the hose would enter the drain pipe at a steeper angle. Otherwise, it sounds like the plumbing installation might not be in proper condition. Was it better before?

Lately, the washing machine has also been draining water into the kitchen sink in the other room, which isn’t connected to that trap.
With the old sink, everything worked perfectly fine, but that might just be a coincidence.
