Exactly. So the IKEA customer definitely ends up with unnecessary additional costs. Either from the Y-distributor variant (which I had already considered yesterday) or if they keep the strainer and buy the entire rest new. Because just buying a new drain pipe is not possible; a standard one wouldn’t fit into the IKEA pipe!

What a waste of cost and time! And all just because some complete fool at IKEA decided to replace the Atlant with such a completely ridiculous, impractical design! Doesn’t IKEA have any kind of final quality control to test the “great” new products for functionality? Or is it really possible that they want to force customers to buy the more expensive 2-basin siphon? That just can’t be true!

I am not talking about financial accounting or even the completely legitimate intention to make a profit, but about profit maximization through deliberate incompatibility. Or do you have an explanation for why, for example, the drilling holes in the mentioned tabletops are now placed so precisely that you absolutely cannot use old table legs with them, even though it would be perfectly possible to keep the old drilling patterns? A tabletop does not require changing these things. IKEA always talks so much about sustainability. So why do they force customers to buy new items instead of being able to combine old elements with the new ones?

Switching suppliers alone, and suddenly you have different machines and production lines.

I also think it’s annoying that my old rims and tires from a 1992 Jetta no longer fit on the current KdF cars.

Then don’t buy from the elk if all this bothers you so much. Income tax law has nothing to do with financial accounting, but they are related.

Switching suppliers is enough; just like that, you have different machines and production lines.

I also find it frustrating that my old rims and tires from the 1992 Jetta no longer fit the current KdF models.

Then just don’t shop at the Elk if it all annoys you so much. Income tax law has nothing to do with accounting, but they are related.

And sometimes it’s enough that 90% of all Europeans only have a dishwasher in the kitchen and not both…
Like me, for example.
Please, no logical and reasonable arguments here, nobody wants to read those.

No problem, even if both are running,

I would still be careful. I saw a nice photo collection of cases where it actually was a problem.
The trap is not designed to withstand the pressure or load from two pumping machines.

You are right about that point; the trap definitely needs to be secured additionally, as it bears a considerable amount of weight when both hoses push water in under pressure. Thanks for the reminder.

You can use the included clamps to secure the siphon. The siphon has two holes that can also be used for fastening. Additionally, it is best to use straps and metal clamps.

Visible plumbing pipes, drain pipe, and connections under the sink.
