Hello everyone!

I’m a bit frustrated right now and hope you can help me.

A few weeks ago, I installed my Faktum fitted kitchen; part of this is an Ikea Hjälpsam dishwasher made by ELECTROLUX.

Earlier today, I thought it would be a good idea to clean a soap dispenser in the dishwasher.

After about 20 minutes, when I happened to enter the kitchen again, I was faced with a huge foam mess. The (actually small amount of) remaining soap in the dispenser had expanded into an enormous foam mountain coming out of the dishwasher.

After I panicked and turned off the water supply, and carefully cleaned the foam out of the kitchen, I wanted to drain the remaining foam from the machine by running it empty.

What surprised me at first: The drain pump kept running continuously, even with the main power switch turned off. Also, the selected programs are canceled after a short time.

A look in the manual and a brief internet search revealed: The Aqua Stop safety system was triggered due to the water and foam leakage; this is why the drain pump runs nonstop.

Now that the cause has been eliminated, the machine is still stuck in “Aqua Stop” mode.

How can I reset this? I’d rather not call customer service, wait forever, and have to spend a fortune.

Can anyone help?

Best regards and many thanks,

Matthias

I had the same problem. The cause turned out to be a large amount of dirt around the tub where the outlet for the water level sensor is connected. Inside the tub, there is a small slot, and from the outside, a gray hose is attached to it. I used cotton swabs to thoroughly clean this small slot from the inside. Now the appliance runs smoothly again.

And here is what I learned: regularly clean your dishwasher. There are plenty of products available on the market for this!
