Hello everyone, I would like to briefly introduce myself since I am new here!

My name is boehsepiraten 🙂 , I am 31 years old. I live and build near Gera, which is in Thuringia.

So, one bathroom in our house was recently replastered. That means plaster and then a layer of white fine plaster on top.

My question is: can I prime directly on this fine plaster and then tile? Or could there be problems because of the white fine plaster?

Second question: in the shower area, there is also this fine plaster. How should I proceed? Prime, waterproof, tile, or something else?

I would appreciate it if someone could help me, as I’m not very experienced with tiling yet 🙂

Maybe there are some good tilers here as well. I still have about 100 m² (1,100 sq ft) left to tile, which I probably wouldn’t trust myself to do!

Good evening.
The best approach is to prime the surface first, then apply a very thin layer of flexible tile adhesive with a trowel, and after that, you can start laying the tiles.

Have lots and lots of fun!
