So, I'm starting a new topic here to avoid overloading the house pictures thread.
I find the sliding doors for ovens quite interesting – but do they really offer any added value? I was also surprised to read that ovens now seem to be adopting a feature I dislike in microwaves: instead of setting temperature and possibly time, you input the "dimensions" of the food?! What is that supposed to achieve?! Personally, I think it’s terrible.

@Obstlerbaum: I also didn’t want a cooktop operated solely with a touchpad. So we chose a Neff induction hob with a twisted knob. It has proven to be reliable for us over the year. At €470, I find the 60cm (24 inches) model (couldn’t go wider, unfortunately) reasonably priced.

By the way, for all ovens first approved from 2020 onwards, control via smartphone app or alternatively a smart home control panel is mandatory. That’s nonsense; please don’t present such rubbish as fact.

I notice that there are more men in this group who like to be guided or even tempted by technology. Cooking yes, but only with high-end technology.
The women are more down-to-earth and can or want to cook without any flashy technology. These are the so-called gastrosexual men.
There is also a nice book with a similar title.

What does this have to do with marketing? The device is just extremely high-quality; it can steam cook, blend, grind, cook, and knead dough. There is nothing better for baking.
We also prepare complete meals with it (beef roulades, turkey strips, fish…). Mostly, it serves as a helper.
I’m a big fan of this thing, and I think all owners feel the same way—only those who don’t own it come up with a thousand reasons why it’s unnecessary. I can think of 1,199 reasons off the top of my head.

I couldn’t get anyone to agree with me. Today, I am the main user of the device I once considered unnecessary.
So, I was completely drawn into the “unfortunately cool” trend according to the DIN standard. The inclination was naturally there beforehand. Maybe those opposing it are rejecting their own latent tendency?
