ᐅ Would adding an extra window make sense in terms of lighting? What are your thoughts?

lasa64Hello everyone,
we are getting a semi-detached house facing northeast. Currently, a floor-to-ceiling window is planned on the right side of the house. On the entrance side, a large window is also planned. We are considering installing an additional window right next to the planned window on the right side of the house.
Do you think this additional window would provide a significant benefit in terms of natural light, or how would you assess this?
I would appreciate any feedback.

That depends on the layout of the rooms and the surroundings of the house, especially the "right side."
So, is the right side facing southeast? Where is the carport planned?
It would be best if you could share a drawing.
Basically, I would always recommend having more windows – they are often planned to be too few or too narrow...

therefore, a self-made sketch has to suffice for now. That’s perfectly fine!
But wow, what is the garage doing back there???
I would rather omit a window on the north side and instead install a 3-meter (10 feet) window roughly in the middle of the right side.
And to be honest: I’m probably one of the few who would skip a bathroom window by moving the living room closer to the staircase and fully glazing the entrance door, including an additional floor-level window next to it.
Then I would shorten the partition wall to the kitchen at the entrance area to 70 cm (28 inches) and place a wall panel where the bathroom door would be. Perhaps it might also be possible to install a fixed window in the interior wall towards the kitchen to catch some of the southwest sun?
Thank you for the suggestions. They are very helpful.
I completely agree with you on the toilet. We also plan to position it closer to the stairs to enlarge the entrance area.
We cannot do without a northeast-facing window, unfortunately the builder refuses to change that. Do you think that the additionally planned floor-to-ceiling window would make sense as an alternative?
We want to shorten the kitchen partition wall to 180 cm (6 feet); more than that won’t be possible since we need that wall space for appliances.
What exactly do you mean by the window in the kitchen?

Oh, about the garage: in my drawing, the garage extends slightly beyond the house. We have the option to extend the garage by 2 meters (6.5 feet) so that it aligns with the terrace. We would like to have the additional storage space, but we are concerned that this might reduce the sunlight on the terrace. However, we are also planning a second terrace because, due to the orientation, we generally won’t get much sun on the terrace.
