Hello dear forum readers,

I have a basic question about new construction.

At the location where we want to build our house, Telekom only provides a slow internet connection. Therefore, we want to get internet and telephone through KabelDeutschland.

Is it necessary to install a Telekom connection in the house, or can we save the cost by skipping it? Or is it not advisable to leave out the Telekom connection/setup?

Thank you in advance,

Of course, you can skip installing the telecom line and spend the money on other things (there are always some when building a house). But what if the cable connection also turns out to be poor? Then it’s too late to get the telecom line back into the house cheaply.

That’s why we are having both connections installed, but initially only plan to use the cable connection for phone and internet. The telecom line costs us just under EUR 300, which we consider worth it to remain flexible in the future.

There was also a longer thread on this topic a few days ago...

If you have the APL installed outside on the house, it is free of charge. If Telekom has to install it inside the house, it costs 351 euros.
This is a fixed fee, whether it is done now while the trench is already open, or if they have to do it completely on their own later.
These are flat rates.
