something I've wanted to say to IKEA for a while:

Basically, I think the Smalland is really good. The only major drawback is that you can only leave the children there for one hour. If you want to choose furniture calmly and also get some advice (like we did recently – we wanted to buy bathroom furniture), the one hour is definitely not enough. It would be much better if you could leave the children for at least two hours.

Have you already asked about it in person at Ikea? The staff will surely understand if it takes a little longer, especially if you inform them in advance. The Smaland is a great free service from Ikea, and I haven’t seen anything comparable anywhere else.

Since when is that the case? You should check again—there is no time limit at our house in Munich Brunnthal!
