ᐅ Ikea Billy bookshelf or a similar model with a width of 90 cm (approximately 35 inches)

kakueHello,
I know this is an old topic, but none of the solutions I have found so far seem quite suitable for me.
My problem:
I have a bookcase made of Billy shelves from my childhood. They are all pine veneer and terribly scratched and damaged. I would like to replace them.
One shelf is 90cm (35 inches) wide, the other is 120cm (47 inches) wide (2x 60cm (24 inches)).
For the wider one, I can easily find a replacement at almost any furniture store, but there is almost nothing available in 90cm (35 inches)!
So I unfortunately have to reduce the width of a shelf.
I know of several projects where someone has shortened an Expedit/Kallax shelf, but I have not heard or seen how this would work with Billy or Besta/Inreda shelves.
Has anyone ever narrowed a Billy shelf from 40cm (16 inches) to 30cm (12 inches)?
Or does anyone have good experience with other IKEA shelving units?
Thank you very much for your help!

have you ever looked at the Lerberg series from IKEA? There is a shelving unit that is only 35 cm (14 inches) wide. My room has a rather limited layout as well, and for me, it was the perfect gap filler with plenty of storage space. It’s not made of wood or anything similar but consists of black-lacquered metal—for me, it matches any other type of wood. It’s also affordable, which was a deciding factor given my rather limited budget. Even though it doesn’t look particularly sturdy, it has held up well under all the loads so far.
I hope this helps in some way—even if only to rule out another option...
Best regards

Hello,
thank you very much for the tip!
I will definitely add the shelf to my personal shortlist. However, it is unfortunately not very suitable for the intended purpose. I have also moved away from my original idea:
Instead of getting a shelf with a width of 90cm (35 inches), I will now buy two 40cm (16 inches) ones and place them with a gap in between.
To reduce fire risk, I prefer to go with LEDs.
