I have had Pax Fardal doors for one month. I noticed that the doors are always dirty in the morning. However, the gray film can be wiped off.
But it can’t be normal for them to always be dirty, right?
Thanks for your answers

rafael196630 May 2012 22:19Hello everyone!
I noticed this phenomenon with my black high-gloss Besta fronts, especially after the protective film was removed. They became statically charged. I went to a local drugstore and bought a furniture care spray with antistatic properties for $1.29, and since then, no more issues!
Best regards

Such phenomena usually occur when no carpets or curtains, etc. are used since dust mainly accumulates there. Either, as already mentioned, furniture spray or a few curtains or a plush carpet can help.

IKEA-Experte4 Mar 2015 18:43The causes of fogging are not yet fully understood, but it is easy to imagine that, for example, with a RINGHUKT front, plasticizers, stabilizers, and other substances may off-gas, combine with dust, and then leave a black film, especially along the edges where the wall meets the ceiling.

What fogging is not.
Based on experience, a number of seemingly possible causes can be ruled out. Therefore, it is not due to:
The deposits also form regardless of whether smoking takes place indoors or not. However, the aerosol content is higher in homes where smoking occurs.
Likewise, the type of heating system (central heating, underfloor heating, etc.) has no effect on the fogging issue. It occurs with all types of heating.
During the summer months, when there is constant air exchange in the apartments, accumulation of the so-called SVOCs in the air almost never occurs. It is noticeable that the fogging effect never appears in office spaces, but almost exclusively in residential areas. This will be examined in more detail later.

- External influences, such as emissions from industrial facilities
- Influences from the immediate surroundings, for example, busy roads
- Effects from ventilation systems
- Soot deposits from stoves, fireplaces, ventilation systems, candles, torches, or other open flames
