The carcasses are coated with melamine resin. Particle boards have been coated like this for decades. If this caused fogging, the problem would have appeared much earlier and more frequently. The option to identify the cause with a wipe test and material sample (link from Juliette) seems very interesting. However, I wonder how expensive that might be.
