CarloHello,
unfortunately, my oven at home has broken down and now I need a new one. Does anyone have experience with the IKEA oven DÅTID OV M01 AN? I read that this model has a special interior coating for easy cleaning. Cleaning my old appliance was a nightmare. Even with oven cleaner and a long soaking time, it still required a lot of scrubbing. Will this coating save me from that?
I look forward to your experiences and thank you in advance.
Best regards, Carlo

Hi Carlo,
I don’t have THE exact oven, but I have another model from IKEA and I’m really happy with it!
According to the product features of the oven you selected, it has "catalytic enamel panels," which to me means the panels are easy to clean, right? Or are the interior walls also called panels?!
I think for a price of 270,- you probably won’t get a fully "self-cleaning" oven.
Improved heat-insulated oven door: an effective ventilation system directs room air between the two glass panes to cool the door.
Oven door with child safety lock for extra kitchen safety.
Smooth glass on the inside of the oven door; the door can be removed for cleaning.
Oven for flexible cooking; 5 functions can be combined for different cooking methods – from defrosting to good baking results.
Convection: even heat distribution; practical for sponge cakes, pastries, and other baked goods.
Turbo grill: allows grilling, browning, and thorough cooking of larger pieces of meat.
Fan-assisted defrost function; for fast and hygienic defrosting.
Conventional top and bottom heat and grill function. Useful for crispy dishes, braising, or even grilling of vegetables and smaller pieces of meat.
Oven with catalytic enamel panels; easy to keep clean because grease splashes burn off upon contact with the hot catalytic enamel surface.
At the end of the set cooking time, a mechanical bell rings and the oven switches off automatically.
Cooling fan – protects against overheating.
Otherwise, I can only say: THIS one almost cleans itself: NUTID OVN 900 S
Cheers,
Alex

Hello,
I just got my new IKEA oven. For cost reasons, I went with the DÅTID OV M01 model. It looks nice. A friend is coming over soon, and then we will connect it to power and start the first test run.
I’ve already found a recipe for chocolate cookies. I’m not much of a baker, but it should have a proper first use. I’m planning to make quite a mess and really put the easy-care surface to the test.
Thanks for your tips...

Hello everyone,
Yes, I have tried out the oven. Delicious chocolate cookies! They certainly can’t compare to my mom’s at home (which makes sense since it was a ready-made mix – a convenient excuse :rolleyes 🙂, but they were all eaten on the same evening.
I wish everyone from IKEA a great weekend.
