freeman_99087 Nov 2015 17:17Hello,
I’m really at a loss by now. Maybe someone here can help me. About five years ago, I bought the 2.5-seater Klamby sofa from IKEA. Unfortunately, it’s no longer available, and now the upholstery has torn. I’ve searched everywhere online but haven’t been able to find any replacement covers.
The 2.5-seater Klamby sofa from back then is now only sold under the name "Säter" at IKEA, but there are no covers available for it since it’s a brown leather sofa. However, the dimensions are exactly the same.
I’ve also checked with BEMZ, saustarkdesign.com, and others, but they don’t have covers for the Klamby sofa either.
Can anyone help? I still really like the sofa and don’t want to buy a new one, but it’s difficult to use it with the damaged upholstery. Thanks in advance!

IKEA-Experte7 Nov 2015 22:59Hello, I’m trying again with the rather unsuccessful idea of carefully opening the seams of the old upholstery and using the pieces as a pattern. Doing it yourself.

freeman_99088 Nov 2015 03:36Thank you for your reply! Do you think there’s any chance to still fix it in my case?

This is what a Klamby sofa looks like after someone slides around on it without realizing there’s a broken metal button on the back of their pants, with a small sharp tip sticking out. (No idea how that happened)
Oh… it’s really frustrating!

IKEA-Experte8 Nov 2015 10:16There’s nothing that can be saved there, but if you buy fabric and cut it according to the old fabric pieces, you can sew new covers yourself.
Or you buy a well-preserved complete sofa like the one in the ad. Just the cover alone wouldn’t be cheaper.
Is the underside made of a different fabric?

freeman_99088 Nov 2015 12:12Oh, that’s what you meant…. That could be an option, but I would need to know someone with sewing experience. I don’t feel confident doing it myself.
I check Ebay Classifieds every day to see if anyone is selling their Klamby sofa. It has happened before, but unfortunately, I didn’t win the bid. I wanted them to just send me the cover. Someone else ended up picking up the entire sofa.
And yes, the underside is made of a different fabric.
I guess I’ll have to accept buying a new one. The Karlstad 3-seat sofa looks similar to mine. I think I’ll get that one and this time order an extra cover as a spare.

freeman_99088 Nov 2015 12:17I have already considered just buying a "Karlstad" cover. Maybe it will fit as well.
