Hello everyone,
I’m slowly getting desperate and came across this site. Maybe you can help me.
Yesterday, my Karlstad 3-seater sofa and Karlstad armchair were delivered and both were assembled. However, the covers were not put on, which I initially didn’t think much about, since you would usually expect to be able to put them on afterward. But now I had to realize from the instructions that the cover must be put on before or during the assembly of the sofa?!?! I fiddled around a bit trying to get the cover on – no chance. Neither on the armchair nor on the sofa.
Do I now have to completely disassemble the sofa and armchair to put the covers on? And possibly every time I want to wash the covers?? That can’t seriously be their intention, right? I’m on my own and could never take this sofa apart alone, let alone put it back together. Honestly, I’m extremely disappointed, I was really looking forward to the sofa, even paid extra for assembly, and now it’s standing there and I can’t get the covers on... *desperate*

I think there is only one solution: pick up the phone and call the IKEA customer service hotline. Explain your problem. It looks like the team who assembled the furniture forgot to put the covers on, so ask them to come back and install them, since the assembly is not really complete without that. After all, that was the service you paid for. Normally, they should send someone to fix it free of charge! If you live near an IKEA store, you can also go there with your receipt and speak to customer service in person, which is usually faster than calling the hotline.
Best regards,
