Hello IKEA fans.
I recently had some IKEA furniture delivered, and now I’m having some issues. 🙁
I would appreciate it if someone with similar problems could offer some advice.

First, I bought the Aspelund bed frame along with the Sultan Lödingen, Sultan Elsfjord, and Skorva midbeam. We followed the assembly instructions carefully. Because I wanted the mattress to sit higher, we installed the metal pieces that support the slatted bed base, as well as the midbeam, according to the instructions. The slatted bed base was also assembled quickly.
Unfortunately, when lying down on the bed, the slatted base does not flex or provide any support at all. It just bends through completely and hits the midbeam. At the height of the hips, the slatted base has a wooden crossbar to stabilize the frame. This also hits the midbeam and ends up being the hardest and highest point in my bed. It’s uncomfortable to sleep on, and my back is feeling worse again.
In the IKEA store, I was only able to test the mattress on a single Malm bed. Of course, that did not have a midbeam in the middle.
As for weight, I weigh 85kg (187 lbs) at 1.75m (5 ft 9 in), which I think should not be a problem for the Lödingen slatted bed base. But something is clearly not working with the slatted base. The store advertised that with this mattress and slatted base I would get proper support for my body.

Someone from IKEA is coming next week, but they think the mattress is the issue. However, the mattress seemed fine in the store, it just wasn’t tested with a double bed with a midbeam. I am more inclined to believe that the problem lies with the slatted bed base.

Second, parts of my Pax wardrobe were damaged during delivery. There are several dents visible. The thin cardboard packaging wasn’t able to protect the furniture pieces. IKEA only offered me 30 euros compensation, but my delivery cost was 77 euros. 30 euros seems a bit low to me considering the costs they would have to cover for picking up the item and delivering a replacement.

Thank you very much for your advice.
Kind regards,
B.
How does IKEA handle exchanges for furniture that was damaged during delivery?

An appraiser was just at my place. He said that the mattress and the slatted bed base don’t match. The mattress is too thin for the slatted base, which itself is too flexible in terms of bending stiffness.
I might be able to have the mattress replaced. What I don’t understand is why I tested IKEA mattresses that fit my body, if they primarily need to be compatible with the bed frame. However, IKEA advertises differently in their store. The logic doesn’t make sense to me. Let’s see what IKEA says now, and I hope my back pain doesn’t get any worse.
