Hello,
I’m getting a bit frustrated. We replaced our Atlant trap on our domsjö sink because the screws on the old trap had rusted through and it no longer stayed attached to the sink.
I got the long screws for the old domsjö sink with the integrated overflow, so all the parts should fit. However, I can’t manage to connect the Atlant to the sink in a way that stops water from leaking through (I tried the seals with the smooth surfaces facing up and down, centered the drain several times, and tightened it again). Does anyone have any tips or experience with this? I have the impression that the ceramic on the underside of the sink is just not even enough to seal properly with the gaskets. Could applying some additional plastic sealant like plastic plumber’s putty help?
Thanks very much for your replies!
Best regards,
HP

Good evening,
I received the longer screw from Ikea, but it is still too short. I have the Domsjö model from 2012 or 2013 and have now also gotten the Atlant siphon, but I can’t get it installed properly. Do you perhaps have a detailed assembly guide or clip that clearly shows how to install the siphon? I was able to build the entire kitchen on my own without any problems—despite lots of wide and sharp angles—but now I’m stuck on this annoying issue. I would be very, very grateful for your help.
Best regards
Inga

IKEA-Experte10 Jan 2017 20:24What does the screw look like, and how long is it?

IKEA-Experte11 Jan 2017 10:46ATLANT was changed once. At first, it was just a standard chipboard screw, then a hollow threaded screw. The latter was available for domsjö in a 6cm (2.4 inches) long version, and the chipboard screw was also available in longer lengths. Which one do you need?
So it should definitely be the 6cm (2.4 inches) threaded screw (how long is the chipboard screw?). I noticed on the underside of the basin that number 16742 and Made in Turkey are engraved. I’m not sure if that means anything or if it’s important.
Thanks for now

IKEA-Experte11 Jan 2017 22:08Either a machine screw or a wood screw will fit. If a short machine screw is included, then there must also be a long one, and it cannot be a wood screw.
